State of the Pups - May 2011
Me: Seriously, if I let a tag to you go for a little while, poke me about it. Bug me to return them because it's the only way I'll learn. I don't know what it is, but I'm stuck in this horrible rut of procrastination where I love all my threads, I love all my characters, but I'll look away from my inbox for a couple hours and suddenly it's five days later. It's becoming a real problem, and I need to kick it, so seriously, never feel bad about pestering me for tags ad nauseum. I'm working on it. Also, I'm really out of it today, so this SotP is probably gonna involve a lot of nonsensical tl;dr rambling, fair warning.
Wanda: Okay, wow. So, I'm not really sure how it happened, but somewhere along the line there, after a good two years of being a solid, quiet presence on the backburner of my roster, Wanda has jumped back up and become my primary again, seemingly overnight. She's just so loud all of a sudden, I don't even know. My best guess is that it's due either to all my Sean focus going towards his homeplot for the last few months or to the fact that I'm getting new canon for the first time since I apped her (omg, the banter between him and Aurora in the 0.1 issue made me SO FUCKING GIDDY, you have no idea). Whatever the reason, though, I'm basically just in ALL WANDA, ALL THE TIME mode and I'm loving it, I just want to throw her at everyone ever, and that's pretty much all I've got planned for her at the moment. While I didn't go about getting her out as much or as deliberately as I've been intending to forever, she's somehow managed to start rebuilding a small circle of friends ANYWAY, which also makes me super excited because seriously, she was down to pretty much nothing for a while there, it was kinda pathetic.
So, to recap. She finally got to find out that Alpha Flight won't be staying dead forever post-Collective massacre, which is a pretty big load off her mind, even if she's bummed about Puck, but that's what future canon is for! (SIDEBAR: Peter Dinklage is hot shit right now, right? Someone should totally app Puck. She misses her BFF, and you can never have too many badass dwarves. Just sayin'.) She's still overdue some kind of mid-life crisis breakdown, maybe when her birthday rolls around again, but since she's in a much better place now, she should be able to roll with it pretty well. Main priority at the moment is solifying relationships, so gimme your Peters and your Dannys and your Wardos and your Aragorns (who she's kinda crushing on, lol what even) and your Zells and your Edens, I'm just rolling joyously around in having her actually know people again. More than that, gimme everyone for her, everyone. THIS MEANS YOU.
Truth Plot: Yes, but that'll most likely be strictly an academic decision, since I have nothing planned for her and don't see it really affecting anything, unless anyone else has ideas?
Age/Sex Switch: Absolutely, it's just a matter of deciding how old I'm gonna make him. I have a couple plotty ideas kicking around in my head, but nothing I'm really in a position to make happen, so I'll probably just play it by ear and have a bit of fun with it. Maybe I'll make her a horny teenage boy, just to really fuck her up. XD
Sean: Oh, bb. Homeplot fucked him up pretty badly, but not all that much has changed since last month, which is all on me, so you can pretty much just read last month's SotP and be done with it. Homeplot is pretty much a wrap at this point, I just need to sit down and put together this beast of a linkdump for it, and then I can focus more on figuring out just what Sean's current state of mind is. He's first in line for an EP next month, and I think I'm gonna tag him around some just to find his voice after several months of handwaved recovery and drinking. Because I'm still finishing March threads, I've still got his angrybastard voice in my head, but the plan was never for him to get stuck in that rut again, I just need to tease out where he's gone since then. It should be fun!
Truth Plot: Maaaaaaybe? I wouldn't mind doing something for it, but it would probably just be with Meredith, and I've always preferred horrible truths coming out naturally in their relationship. Stef, any ideas?
Age/Sex Switch: I've been so focused on homeplot, I haven't thought about any of this at all, man. I'd definitely like to do something, at least with his age, but I'm not sure exactly what. Maybe bump him up twenty years to his proper canon age?
Felix: I'm getting fidgety and losing steam, so this will be brief, but Felix has really been bearing the brunt of my epic slowtime failures. He's not going anywhere, but I'm so overdue for a canon rewatch it's not even funny. His voice is still as loud as ever, but it disappears when I'm not actually playing him, so his tags wind up sitting around the longest while I get distracted by shiny things for days on end. So seriously, don't be afraid to nudge me if I'm being stupid slow, I very rarely drop threads so you don't have to worry that that's all it is. I want to tag you, I just have extremely poor time-management skills (and yet I'm playing Felix Unger, figure that one out), so help meeeeeeeee.
Truth Plot: Probably not, if only because there's just not a whole heck of a lot he keeps to himself as it is. XD
Age/Sex Switch: It could be SO HILARIOUS, so I'm keeping it open as an option, but I really have no idea what I'd do for it yet. Ideas more than welcome!
Future: I've said it dozens of times at this point, so I'll keep it brief: Maddie Pryor. She is the only guarantee. I recently reread all of the Incredible Hercules in a day, so it looks like Marvel Herc is also squarely on the docket just to make my life difficult in addition to my poor, neglected queue. HAVE AT THEE!
